Kathmandu
The capital of Nepal, is named after Kasthamandap, an imposing pagoda near
Hanuman Dhoka Palace. The Kathmandu city was built in its present form by
Gunakama Dev in 723 A.D. The Kathmandu Valley has an exotic setting. It is
surrounded by tier upon tier of green mountain walls above which tower
mighty snowcapped peaks. It consists of three main cities of great historic,
and cultural interest Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patna) and Bhaktapur (Bhadgaon).
The Kathmandu Valley covers an area of 218 sq. miles. It is situated at
1336m above the sea level. From the air, the oval shaped Kathmandu Valley,
the hub of the country looks like a large chess board with the sacred river
Bagmati and its tributary Bishnumati wending their way to the south.
Kathmandu valley of Nepal has been regarded as an "open museum"
and eight destinations have been recognized as world heritage site by
UNESCO. Kathmandu valley is full of temples so it is said that "There
are as many temples as houses and as many gods as people". This country

Nagarkot
Situated at 7133 ft, is a 75 minute picturesque drive from Kathmandu with a

Dhulikhel
Situated at 5500 ft, 30Kms Northeast of Kathmandu on the Arniko Highway. A

snow capped ranges from Karyolung in the east to Himachal in the west.

Jomsom
Situated at an altitude of 2713 meters is best approachable by a 20 minutes
flight from Phokra. It lies north of the Annapurna range. While flying one
gets an excellent view of the Fish Tail Peak, Annapurna range and the
Dhaulagiri. Alternative to this is to treck from Phokra to Jomsom which
takes 5 days.
Chitwan National Park
Situated 120Kms south west of Kathmandu. Activities include wild life
safaris on Elephant back in the Chitwan jungles home to Royal Bengal Tiger,
Leopard, Wild Elephant, Black buck, Sloth bear, Blue bull, Swamp deer,
Chital, Sambar, Ghoral, Crocodiles, the one Rhino, Wild bear and some four
hundred species of birds has been recorded. Canoe ride in the nearby river
offer a tranquil way of viewing river oriented wild life such as the Marsh
Mugger, Gharial Crocodiles, Genetic Dolphins and the otter. Besides this
